Same3Guys GameTime Cleveland

GameTime Cleveland podcastSummary:

Hail to the first ever College Football Playoff Champions… your Ohio State Buckeyes!!! We’ll talk about that sensational performance by Urban Meyer’s squad and talk about their situation at QB going into 2015. And the NFL is down to their own final 4. We’ll know who will be playing in SuperBowl 49 by the end of this weekend. It’s GameTime!

Hosts: Mike KresicTom Kresic

Running Time: 51:47

1Q: Buckeyes Prevail in Big Game

  • Ohio State 42, Oregon 20
  • Zeke Elliott continued to be a beast (246 yards, 4 TDs) and a workhorse
  • Defensive performance to combat Oregon’s fast-paced offense, limit to 20 pts
  • Aggressive all game (converting 4th downs). Jones and Zeke always seemed able to get that 1st down whenever we needed it.
  • 4 turnovers that didn’t cost us too much (one led to that 1 play, 70yd TD) were nerve wracking and confounding (Jones fumble without being touched, indecision on an option handoff to Zeke, ball bouncing off Marshall for an INT)

Urban Meyer

Urban Meyer hoists the College Football Playoff trophy as his Ohio State Buckeyes dominated the Oregon Ducks and became National Champions.

2Q: This One Was Won in the Trenches

  • Dominating performance from our O-Line. Ducks couldn’t stop us. Holes for Zeke. Protection for Jones.
  • Meyer joins elite company as HC of 3 National Champs and joining only Saban as doing it at two different schools
  • Amazing three game performance, Beating Wisconsin 59-0, Alabama 42-35 and Oregon 42-20

3Q: Can The Buckeyes Repeat in 2015?

  • Cardale Jones is returning to OSU
  • JT Barrett won’t be back from injury in time for Spring Practice.
  • Braxton and/or JT could possibly transfer
  • If they stay, two guys will be unhappy on the bench
  • 2 QBs also waiting in the wings. Meyer has an embarrassment of riches at QB. (Browns QBs are just an embarrassment).

4Q: NFL Playoffs

  • Down to the Final 4. A surprise in the AFC as they Broncos disappeared at the end of the year.
  • AFC: Colts vs Patriots
  • NFC: Packers vs Seahawks
